Downtown Atlanta

Hello Lover,

Welcome back to my blog! This month of September has been busy, but I couldn't help but share a bit of my world with you all. I've written plenty of post about other cities I've visited but never my hometown of Atlanta! As many of my friends know I am a southern belle turned city girl nonetheless, I'll always remember my roots! Living in Atlanta has made me the woman I am today. A lady of class with a charming smile & a great sense of humor. What I admire the most about the city is that the culture is irresistible you can't help but be greet everyone, open doors & smile at strangers. As a Georgia peach & your partner in crime, it's my honor to show my friends around the city. While I have a slew of suggestion from the swankiest hotel bars to the best places for a quick bite, I want to share a couple of my personal favorites with you.

Poor Calvin's - On the corner of Piedmont & Rennasiacane in downtown, you'll see a small house that looks a bit special. "Poor Calvin's" is quite the deceiving name. (I mean seriously who is Calvin?) While I have yet to figure out the origin of the name I can tell you that Poor Calvin's is the gem of Atlanta from brunch to dinner the small intimate space is the perfect setting for date night. The menu is Southern-themed with an Asian fusion twist. Most of everything is fried & worth the calories. My favorite dish is the Fried chicken which is paired with lobster mac n' cheese (yes it's as good as it sounds) & juicy collard greens. You will leave satisfied & in need of a nap.

The Mercury - Think of Mad Men style meets swanky lounge. The Mercury is located at second floor Ponce City Market in Midtown. From an excellent drink selection ( The Hummingbird is my personal favorite) & a great dinner menu with plenty of Vegan & Gluten Free options, The Mercury is the perfect restaurant for dinner. Plus you have the opportunity to walk it off at The Beltline or shop it off if you're me.

Aria - Since being voted "10 Best Romantic Restaurants in Atlanta by USA Today," Aria has been on my Atlanta restaurant crush for a while. From the seven-course tasting menu to the seasonal offerings Aria is sure to exceed the expectations for any dinner date.

Mercedes Benz Stadium - The 1.6 billion dollar development has put Atlanta on the map! Not only are we hosting the 53rd Super Bowl but we also have a brand new soccer team. While I have yet to visit the stadium but I've heard the AMG Lounge & SunTrust Club provides some of the best views from the 45-yard lines. In addition to the many sporting events, your favorite artist may be in town for a showstopping performance.

High Museum - The High Museum is just as aesthetically pleasing as the name sounds. I've visited several times, but I can't help but find myself wandering all five floors in awe. I'm fortunate to have attended amazing exhibitions & you can't miss Friday Jazz night!

Clermont Lounge - Along with our southern hospitality, Atlanta is known for its beautiful women & vibrant entertainment industry. The Clermont Lounge is an Atlanta legend & the longest operating strip club in Atlanta! From celebrity visitors (Bill Murray & Morgan Freeman to name a few) to the legendary Blondie Strange being found there on special occasions, it's an unforgettable experience.

Mandarin Oriental - Enjoy living in the lap of luxury & strolls around the manicured English-style garden or spending a relaxing afternoon at the award-winning spa. Apparently, you're shuffled around the hotel in Tesla's (If you follow me on twitter you understand my Tesla obsession), so anyone that knows me understands that this hotel is the creme-de-la crim of Atlanta.

Loews Atlanta - Located in the heart of Midtown, the hotel is within walking distance of Piedmont Park & STK Atlanta. You will have amazing views from the floor to ceiling windows & you may brush elbows with a visiting celebrity.

Until Next Time,
